Account Manager
Barr-Thorp Electric is seeking an individual to join our Omaha, NE sales team that is interested in helping us grow and service our OEM and automation customers.
Minimum Requirements:
- Good understanding of electricity
- Previous experience in account management position
- Computer skills such as MS Outlook, Word and Excel
- Proven sales experience
- Post High School education
- Willing to travel Nebraska territory
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:
- Strong critical thinking skills and good judgment
- Technical background/training in electricity/electronics
- Experience with or knowledge in the use of electrical control components in industrial settings
- Ability to read and interpret electrical one-line diagrams

Customer Service Specialist
Barr-Thorp Electric is seeking an individual to join our Wichita, KS support team that is interested in helping us grow and service our OEM and automation customers.
Minimum Requirements:
- Basic computer skills
- Dependable and self-directed with a strong desire to help others.
- A desire to learn and motivation to continuously improve
- Be able to communicate effectively and efficiently by phone and email.
- Ability to manage a variety of responsibilities throughout the day, deal with interruptions and adjust priorities as needed
- Ability to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders & stairs and physically capable of operating a forklift (training provided)
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:
- Proficiency with computer programs such as MS Outlook, Word and Excel
- Ability to learn new computer applications quickly
- Strong critical thinking skills and good judgment
- Experience in inside sales or customer service
- Technical background/training in electricity/electronics
- Ability to effectively communicate technical topics to customers and coworkers
- Experience with or knowledge in the use of electrical control components in industrial settings
This position offers autonomy and the ability to interact with internal and external customers on a daily basis in a new office setting. Each day offers a new challenge as you help customers in a variety of industries select products that meet their needs and help make sure orders are processed in a way that meets their schedule.
